Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrival Srinagar - Warm welcome at Srinagar Airport with traditional Kashmiri greeting, transfer to deluxe houseboat on Dal Lake, check-in to beautifully carved wooden houseboat with attached bathrooms, welcome Kahwa (Kashmiri green tea with saffron and almonds), afternoon Shikara ride on Dal Lake gliding past floating gardens, lotus blooms, houseboats, and watching local life, visit floating vegetable market, sunset views of Zabarwan mountains, dinner onboard with Kashmiri cuisine, overnight on houseboat with gentle rocking and water sounds|
Day 2:
Srinagar Mughal Gardens & Old City - Breakfast on houseboat, check-out, transfer to hotel, half-day Srinagar sightseeing: visit Nishat Bagh (Garden of Bliss with terraced lawns and fountains), Shalimar Bagh (Mughal Garden built by Emperor Jahangir for his wife Nur Jahan), Chashme Shahi (Royal Spring with natural spring water), afternoon visit Shankaracharya Temple on hilltop (panoramic valley views), Hazratbal Shrine, Pari Mahal (Palace of Fairies), evening free at Boulevard Road for shopping (pashmina shawls, carpets, dry fruits, saffron), overnight Srinagar|
Day 3:
Srinagar to Gulmarg (50km, 2 hours) - After breakfast, scenic drive to Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers, 2650m altitude), en route photo stops at apple orchards and saffron fields, arrive Gulmarg, ride Asia's highest cable car: Gondola Phase 1 to Kongdoori Mountain (3080m) with spectacular views of snow peaks, Nanga Parbat visible on clear days, optional Phase 2 to Apharwat Peak (3950m - additional cost, subject to weather), time to play in snow, optional activities: skiing (winter), pony rides to Khilanmarg Valley, ATV rides (at own cost), lunch at hotel/restaurant, afternoon exploration of Golf Course (world's highest green golf course), St. Mary's Church, evening return to Srinagar, overnight|
Day 4:
Srinagar to Pahalgam (90km, 2.5 hours) - Breakfast, full-day excursion to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds at 2130m), drive along Lidder River through pine forests, en route visit Saffron fields of Pampore (seasonal Oct-Nov), Awantipora ruins (ancient Hindu temples), arrive Pahalgam, enjoy stunning valley views, optional: pony ride or taxi to Betaab Valley (Bollywood film location, named after movie Betaab), Aru Valley (pristine meadows, starting point for trekking), Chandanwari (starting point of Amarnath Yatra), activities: walking along Lidder River, horse riding, photography, lunch at local restaurant, evening return to Srinagar, overnight|
Day 5:
Srinagar to Sonmarg Day Trip (80km, 2 hours) - Early breakfast, day excursion to Sonmarg (Meadow of Gold, 2800m), drive through scenic route passing villages, walnut trees, and Sindh River, arrive Sonmarg surrounded by snowy peaks, optional: pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier (snow even in summer), activities: snow activities, photography, sledging, exploring meadows, picnic lunch, afternoon return to Srinagar via Ganderbal, evening free for last-minute shopping at Lal Chowk, overnight Srinagar|
Day 6:
Srinagar Departure - Breakfast at hotel, morning free for relaxation or optional visit to Dachigam National Park (home to Hangul Kashmir stag), shopping for handicrafts, woodwork, papier-m├óch├® items, check-out, transfer to Srinagar Airport with memories of Paradise on Earth, tour ends
