Day 1:
Arrive Nainital - Arrive Kathgodam Railway Station (35km from Nainital, nearest railhead), drive to Nainital (Lake District at 2084m, shaped like eye/nain hence name, built around pear-shaped Naini Lake), check-in hotel on Mall Road or hillside, afternoon boating on Naini Lake (rowing boats, paddle boats, yachting club, 1-hour leisurely row, surrounded by hills, Ôé╣150-210 per person), visit Naina Devi Temple at north end of lake (Shakti Peetha where Sati's eyes fell, important pilgrimage, Ôé╣5 entry, can get crowded), evening Mall Road walk (Tallital to Mallital 1.5km flat road along lake, no vehicles except authorized, shops, restaurants, Boat House Club, colonial buildings, Thandi Sadak parallel shaded road), overnight Nainital|
Day 2:

Nainital Lakes Circuit - Full day circuit of surrounding lakes: Bhimtal (22km, larger lake than Nainital with island and aquarium, boating, paragliding, less commercialized, pleasant), Naukuchiatal (26km, nine-cornered lake, legend says spotting all nine corners brings nirvana, rowing boats, peaceful), Sattal (23km, cluster of seven interconnected freshwater lakes, bird watching paradise, kayaking, Methodist Ashram, butterfly museum, nature walks), optional lunch at lake view restaurant, return Nainital evening, overnight|
Day 4:
Kainchi Dham & Departure - Morning visit Kainchi Dham (15km on Nainital-Almora road, famous ashram of Neem Karoli Baba spiritual guru, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs visited 1974, Mark Zuckerberg also visited, peaceful location between two hills/kainchis, temple complex, morning aarti serene, Ôé╣0 free), or Mukteshwar visit (51km, offbeat hill station at 2285m, Mukteshwar Temple, Chauli Ki Jali rock climbing, IVRI, apple orchards, requires half day), checkout, drive to Kathgodam for train departure, or continue to Jim Corbett (65km) if extending tour, tour ends with lake town memories (Best season: Apr-Jun and Sep-Nov pleasant, monsoon Jul-Aug heavy rain lakes beautiful but landslides, Dec-Feb very cold occasional snow, Naini Lake freezes rarely, peak season May-Jun schools holidays very crowded book advance, October Sharad Purnima Nanda Devi Fair)
