Day 1:
Cochin to Alleppey (53km, 1.5 hours) - Arrive Cochin Airport/Station, morning sightseeing Chinese Fishing Nets, Fort Kochi walk, drive to Alleppey/Alappuzha (Venice of East), arrive by noon, board private deluxe houseboat (traditional Kettuvallam with 1-3 AC bedrooms, attached bathrooms, living area, open deck, dining area, kitchen with chef and crew), welcome drink of tender coconut, houseboat cruise begins (usually starts 12-1pm), glide through narrow canals, vast Vembanad Lake, backwater network, watch daily life of villagers along canals: coir making from coconut husk, toddy tapping, fishing with Chinese nets, paddy farming, ducks swimming, children waving, afternoon lunch onboard freshly prepared by chef (Kerala meals with Karimeen pollichathu fish fry, avial mixed vegetable with coconut, olan ash gourd curry, sambar, rice, payasam dessert, adapted for dietary preferences vegetarian/non-veg/Jain/vegan), cruise continues through scenic backwaters, stop at villages for short walks, interactions with locals buying fresh fish, coconuts, evening watch spectacular sunset over backwaters from deck, beautiful golden light reflecting on water, traditional Kerala dinner onboard (Appam with stew, fish curry, vegetable thoran), houseboat anchors for night at peaceful location (middle of lake or quiet canal, only sounds of nature - frogs, crickets, water lapping), sleep onboard in comfortable air-conditioned bedroom, overnight on houseboat (houseboats don't have engines running at night, absolutely peaceful)|
Day 2:
Alleppey to Cochin - Wake up to beautiful sunrise over backwaters, morning tea/coffee served on deck watching sunrise colors, cruise resumes, fresh Kerala breakfast onboard (puttu with kadala curry, banana fritters, idli, coconut chutney, seasonal fruits), disembark by 9-10 am at Alleppey boat jetty, drive to Cochin (53km, 1.5 hours), optional stop at Marari Beach for 1-2 hours (pristine beach 15km from Alleppey, less commercialized, palm-fringed golden sands, fishing village, perfect for relaxation before departure), afternoon drop at Cochin Airport/Railway Station, tour ends with unique backwater houseboat experience (Note: Houseboats don't move during night, so 2D/1N means afternoon of Day 1 to morning of Day 2 cruising, approximately 18-20 hours onboard including overnight stay, full day meant checking in morning 9am and checking out next morning 9am for 24 hours)
