Cruise Lake Tana, source of the Blue Nile, visiting island monasteries preserving ancient religious manuscripts and colorful murals. Trek the dramatic Simien Mountains, home to endemic wildlife including gelada baboons, Ethiopian wolves, and Walia ibex. Experience unique Ethiopian culture with coffee ceremonies, injera flatbread meals, and the ancient Ge'ez script still used in religious texts. Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrive Addis Ababa, city tour visiting National Museum (home of Lucy, 3.2-million-year-old hominid fossil), Holy Trinity Cathedral, and bustling Mercato market. Traditional Ethiopian dinner with coffee ceremony|

Day 2:

Fly to Bahir Dar, afternoon boat trip on Lake Tana visiting island monasteries (Ura Kidane Mehret with ancient manuscripts and frescoes). Evening stroll lakeside promenade|

Day 3:

Drive to Blue Nile Falls (32km), hike to viewpoint of spectacular 45-meter waterfall (seasonal flow varies). Afternoon explore Bahir Dar markets and palaces|

Day 4:

Drive to Gondar (180km, 4 hours). Visit Royal Enclosure castle complex, Fasilides Bath, and Debre Berhan Selassie Church famous for ceiling painted with cherubic faces|

Day 5:

Fly to Lalibela, afternoon visit first group of rock churches including Bet Medhane Alem (largest monolithic church in world) and Bet Maryam. Evening traditional dinner|

Day 6:

Morning visit second group including famous Bet Giyorgis, cross-shaped church carved 15 meters deep into rock. Afternoon optional mule trek to Asheton Monastery for panoramic views|

Day 7:

Fly to Axum, explore ancient obelisk park with 24-meter stelae, Queen of Sheba's Bath, and Chapel of the Tablet (claimed Ark location). Visit archaeological museum|

Day 8:

Fly to Addis Ababa, day room for rest and shopping. Farewell dinner at cultural restaurant with traditional music and dancing. Evening departure|
